I wish they’d tell us how they arrived at their predictions for the breakdown of electrical power in 2020. Seems pretty low on the renewables side. Also they’re assuming no breakthroughs in electricity storage devices.
That’s REALLY what we need. We have plenty of sources of energy, but no place to put it. Whenever we watch SciFi movies there are these coffee ground can sized “power cells” that get depleted over time, but somehow power a starship for decades. Good luck running an airplane on today’s lithium ion battery technology. We need something with an energy density at LEAST on par with oil. ::sigh:: A man can dream can’t he?
